September Is National Sewing Month

Sewing Month, shop hops, and going to the dogs.

September is National Sewing Month. The observance of National Sewing Month began in 1982 with a proclamation from President Ronald Reagan, declaring the observance “In recognition of the importance of home sewing to our nation.”

Remember to bring in all of your finished projects so that we can snap a picture and put them in our online quilt show.

Groovy Girls Is Back

We will only be offering one session this time around, on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6:30 PM. We'll have lots of fun projects and tips to make some of Terry Atkinson's cute designs. $50.00 for 6 months.

Kelly Ann's Is Going to the Dogs

Everyone knows how much Kelly Ann and Andrew love their "girls." They really do lead a life of leisure, but all dogs and cats aren't so lucky.

For the entire month of September we will be collecting supplies that the animal shelter is in need of. Here is a link showing the supplies that are needed.

Your name will be entered into a drawing for a $25.00 gift certificate each time you drop off anything for the shelter.

Tour de Quilt

We are getting super excited that Tour de Quilt is just around the corner. Save the dates October 6th - October 10th, with extended hours at all the shops. There will be lots of fun prizes and, in a new twist for the Tour this year, the quilt is designed by The Swirly Girls.

As the tenth anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attack upon the US approaches, Kelly Ann and Andrew say a heartfelt "thank you" to the first responders, medical personnel and recovery workers who toiled mightily in the weeks and months that followed. Ordinary people from among us reacted in extraordinary ways, then returned to more normal daily work. Many suffered physical and emotional disability from the environment and magnitude of the task they set upon, with effects that are in some cases becoming apparent only now. Know that your work back then, as well as today, remains perhaps the finest example of the good in our country: our people.

Thank you for your business, and we hope to see you again soon at Kelly Ann's.
